James V. Rudolph

Founder & Partner

James founded Castfirm to address a growing need among professional fiduciaries for integrated, conflict-free advisory support - bringing together investment oversight, financial planning, and legal fluency in trusts and estates. Holding a law degree and drawing on a background in estate planning and transactional law, James collaborates closely with trustees, attorneys, and fiduciaries to help align investment strategy with the legal architecture of the trust. His objective in launching Castfirm was to create a firm grounded in fiduciary principles, capable of meeting the complex and evolving demands of trust administration.

Prior to founding Castfirm, James spent over two decades in fiduciary services and investment management. He began his career in law before transitioning to Managing Director roles in private banking at JPMorgan Chase, Citibank, and U.S. Trust, where he advised on the administration and investment of large trust portfolios, charitable vehicles, and multigenerational estates.

Throughout his career, James has developed particular expertise in the implementation and oversight of trust structures - working at the intersection of investment management and legal intent. Castfirm was born from his belief that fiduciaries deserve dedicated, high-touch service and access to an advisor who understands both the investment and legal dimensions of legacy planning.
